The Boy Who Became the Storm

Narrator

Rain never bothered Sambhav.

He had spent his entire life walking through storms.

Some came from the sky.

Most came from people.

The city slept beneath the downpour as Sambhav stood alone in the alley, his hands buried in the pockets of his coat.

The two men who had threatened him were long gone.

Smart choice.

Fear was a language everyone understood.

Sambhav tilted his head back and let the rain hit his face.

Silence.

For the first time all night, he felt calm.

Then he felt it.

A stare.

Someone was watching him.

His eyes lifted toward the rooftop.

And there she was.

A girl standing at the edge of the building.

Motionless.

Like a shadow carved from the darkness itself.

Most people would have stepped away.

Most people would have hidden.

She didn't.

For a brief second, their eyes met.

Something unfamiliar twisted inside his chest.

Not attraction.

Not curiosity.

Recognition.

As though he had seen those eyes before.

Eyes that carried pain.

Eyes that knew what it felt like to survive.

Then she disappeared.

Gone.

Vanished into the night.

Yet Sambhav couldn't look away from the empty rooftop.

Who was she?

And why did she feel so familiar?

Hours later, Sambhav sat in the penthouse office overlooking the city.

Floor-to-ceiling windows reflected the storm outside.

The room was dark except for the faint glow of a desk lamp.

A file lay open before him.

Business reports.

Numbers.

Contracts.

Things he usually handled without effort.

Tonight, he couldn't focus.

His thoughts kept returning to the girl on the rooftop.

A knock interrupted him.

"Come in."

The door opened.

Aarush, his closest friend, entered carrying two cups of coffee.

"You look terrible."

Sambhav raised an eyebrow.

"Good evening to you too."

Aarush laughed and placed a cup on the desk.

"Something happened."

"Nothing happened."

"You're staring at paperwork upside down."

Sambhav glanced down.

The papers were, in fact, upside down.

Aarush smirked.

"So who is she?"

Sambhav's expression darkened.

"There is no she."

"Sure."

Aarush took a sip of coffee.

"You only look this distracted when something catches your attention."

Sambhav looked toward the rain-covered window.

For some reason, he remembered her eyes again.

The sadness hidden inside them.

The loneliness.

The strength.

And the way she looked at the storm as if it belonged to her.

"I don't know her," he finally said.

"Yet."

Aarush grinned.

Sambhav threw a pen at him.

Across the city, Navya sat by her bedroom window.

The storm had begun to fade.

But sleep refused to come.

She wrapped her arms around her knees and stared at the distant skyline.

Somewhere out there was the stranger.

Sambhav.

Though she didn't know his name yet.

She only knew the feeling he left behind.

A feeling she couldn't explain.

Danger.

Mystery.

And something far worse.

Interest.

For the first time in years, someone had stepped into her thoughts.

And she had a feeling he wasn't leaving anytime soon.

Neither of them knew it yet.

But fate had already begun pulling their paths together.

And fate could be far crueler than any storm.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What do you think will happen if they cross path destruction, obsession, darkness,pain,past.
